It’s time to look back on 2021 and define goals for 2022! I did a similar recap one year ago.
Let’s start with the 2021 goals, and did I achieve them?
Goal #1:Meditation 20 min daily
Daily goals are challenging, it seems like a duable beginning of the year but then something happens and you fall off the wagon.
There’s no doubt that meditation is good for us and there should be time for that, even 10 minutes a day.
According to my dailio statistics, I ended up meditating 149 days, which means 41% of the days in 2021. Even though I didn’t reach 100%, I’m happy with 41%.
Goal #2: Join local toastmaster club
The most exciting challenge in 2021 was to join a toastmaster club where we practice speeches.
Not only did I join but I’m also Vice president of Education in a club called Stadin Sanasepät. I managed to do 6 scripted speeches and many improv ones, both on stage and remote due to COVID.
I have seen improvement in my presentation skills and even receive positive feedback on work. Toastmaster club is a safe encouraging environment to practice public speaking, I encourage to try it out.
If you are scared, I can tell that I have frozen during improv speech, but nevertheless, it was a good experience. You learn not to take it seriously and you want to try it again.
Goal #3: 2 Blog post minimum per month
I couldn’t keep up the phase-in April, a total number of posts ended up being 13. I realized that I rather do 6 quality posts a year than 20 half-assed. So insense I don’t consider this as a failure, rather my goals changed.
Goal #4: Earn 1000 euros from blogging
I remember writing this end of 2020 with lots of doubts in my mind: How can I earn it? What will I sell?
In October my thought process was that I consider this somewhat successful as I have received free stuff over 1000 euros but there were 0 euros earned.
Things changed drastically in November when I started affiliation marketing with Veri’s CGM. It’s been an awesome journey and I consider myself lucky (being in the right corner of the internet right time).
That said, I won’t set new targets for 2022. To stay honest and real to myself and my readers, I need to continue to create content that I’m interested in, not just thinking about how to maximize earnings.
I can reveal that the next posts will be about gut health (including gut microbiome analysis) and another big post will be about my first passion, HRV.
Goal #5: Learn to do back lever properly
See the cover picture on top? That’s it. I learn it pretty fast when I put my mind into it, it was 4 weeks of grind. I didn’t like back lever before because it felt off doing it, but now I’m starting to like it as it feels easier.
Goals for 2022
What about this year?
10 speeches in local toastmaster club
I’m planning to do 10 speeches this year in toastmasters. Each speech is around 7 minutes so that means 70 minutes of stage time. In 2021 I did 6 speeches.
Join Adult gymnastics class
I have many years of experience in calisthenics and street workout, now I want to take it to the next level. In February I will start adult gymnastic classes once a week, 1h 30minutes each. This supports my current training regiment and also evolves my game.
Muscle up 360
Already mentioned in my 2020 goals, but I had to forget it as golfers’ elbow didn’t allow me to practice most of 2020. Now my arm is well and motivated to get back with this. I believe adult gymnastic classes will also support this goal as it’s a good environment to practice moves like this.
Touch my toes when stretching
I’m flexible in some ways, but touching my toes when stretching is something that I have never been able to do. The Left and middle illustration is the best I can do, but not the right one.
Optimize my glucose & blood pressure levels
Lastly, I want to get my glucose levels back to optimal range. The same goes for blood pressure.
Last measurement for fasting glucose was 5,3 mmol/l / 95 mg/dL in November 2021. Systolic blood pressure average has been in the range of 120-123 mmHg.

Dude! Nice overview 🙂
My meditation goal didn’t even get close to 41% 😅, which is why my new goal will be to meditate when I feel like it (to not have any pressure on it). Simply also because if the goal is to meditate every day, and you miss even 1, your whole goal is missed 🤔
Looking forward to your HRV and Gut posts!
And so funny who you ended with the touching your toes part. Can’t do that too 😅
Thanks again Tim, always appreciate your feedback.
That’s a good rule for meditation! I noticed that when the speed is too much and calendars are fully booked, then it’s good to pause for a moment and take deep breaths. I would say that I’m following your goal now also for 2022.
